Free Wi-Fi Coming to Stapleford Town Centre
Thanks to the Stapleford Town Team, the Stapleford High Street is soon to have FREE public Wi-Fi.
Visitors to Stapleford Town Centre will be able to benefit from free Wi-Fi, after Broxtowe Borough Council’s Jobs and Economy Committee approved plans on Thursday 26th January 2017.
The Council has been working closely with the Stapleford Town Team over the last year to develop an action plan to revitalise Stapleford and draw in and retain visitors and following a meeting with high street guru Bill Grimsey, free town centre Wi-Fi was identified as a great way to attract more shoppers into the town.
The Council will be investing £25,000 in the project, which is being part funded by a government grant to boost town centres. It is hoped that the Wi-Fi would be up and running by the end of April 2017.
The Town Team is made up of many different businesses and community groups from Stapleford, Chaired by Amy Davis owner of Tailored To You.
Cllr Tony Harper, Chair of the Council’s Jobs and Economy Committee said: “This is a fantastic boost for Stapleford and we have been delighted to work with the town team on this important project for the local area.”
